Piet Sweater

A tartan-esque geometric sweater that brings colour to the colder months. 

You’ll need

Needles:

• US size 7 (4 mm) in 32 in. / 80 cm circular needles 
• US size 4 (3.5mm) in 32 in. / 80 cm circular needles 
• US size 7 (4mm) in 16 in. / 40 cm or double pointed needles for the sleeves
• US size 4 (3.5mm) in 16 in. / 40 cm or double pointed needles for the sleeves 
• 4.5mm crochet hook

Yarn:

2 threads held together in 1 main colour and 4 contrast colours:

• Yarn in 273 yds / 250 m per 50 g. Required amounts for each colour included in the pattern.  
• Yarn in 273 yds / 250 m per 25 g. Required amounts for each colour included in the pattern.

Other:

• Stitch markers
• Darning needle

Sizes

• Sizes XS, S, M (L, XL, 2XL) 3XL in bust measurements 41, 43, 45 (48, 50, 53) 55 in. / 104, 108, 114 (121, 128, 134) 141 cm.
• The sizes have a positive ease of 6 - 8 in. / 15 to 20 cm.  

Construction

This sweater is knitted top down. After the shoulders are shaped, the back and front are work separately until joined in the round. The sleeves are shaped in German Short Rows and the cuffs are tight to highlight the balloon shape of the sleeves.
